TLV FALL FOOD & TOILETRIES DRIVE FOR THE RATHDRUM FOOD BANK
Date: October 10th — 17th
Pickup from Drop Stations Saturday, October 17th, 9:30 – 10:30 AM
Let’s be “Others Focused” and Give Generously
Volunteers at the Rathdrum Food Bank serve 10-18 families per day, Monday thru Thursday. More families are coming to the door each day and currently their shelves are very low.
Our Food Bank serves residents from Rathdrum, Hauser, Twin Lakes and Hayden. Hayden lost their food bank five years ago. Demand has increased with continued job losses, food stamp cuts and more seniors and students in need. The Food Bank sources are: the USDA, Second Harvest, food drives like ours and monetary donations. A family of four demonstrates income eligibility with a monthly income of $2,610. Hats off to both our local grocery stores (Steins and Super One) for generous donations. And thanks to the TLV members who help with time and donations during the Christmas For All program.
Non-perishable foods are always needed but also needed are toiletries such as: toilet paper, laundry soap, shampoo, dish soap, bar soap, paper towels, Kleenex, toothpaste, deodorant, disposable diapers size 1-4, etc. With such bare shelves, all foods are needed: soup, peanut butter, cereal, tuna, spaghetti sauce, canned fruits and canned veggies. And of course, a check made out to the Rathdrum Food Bank is also welcome, so that they can fill in the gaps of need. Last year TLV delivered two full size truckloads of foods and toiletries PLUS $565.00 in cash donations!
Trucks will be picking up donations from designated drop houses/condos between 9:30 and 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 17th If you need to drop off your donation earlier (between the 10th and 16th), you can do that at Diane Thomas or Ann Rholls’ house prefaced by a phone call. You may also drop off your donations at the TLV Administrative Office.
